Floating Dreams
edited by Garry Gay

Floating Dreams, edited by Gary Gay; Two Autumns Press; available from Haiku Poets of Northern California, c/o Fay Aoyagi, 930 Pine St., #105, San Francisco, CA 94108; 2001, 24 pp., paper, $7 ppd.

This is the twelfth book in the Two Autumns’ anthologies series and is marvelously manufactured, beginning with the cover with its attractive photograph, and continuing with its well printed three poems to a page on quality paper. Four poets are represented with twelve poems for each. A sampling haiku from each:

white winter sky
a bowl of owl feathers
on the bedside table

Carolyn Hall

 •

In deepest winter
I only think about it—
a hometown visit

Kiyoko Tokutomi

 •

the waitress presents
a special goat cheese—
the smell of gym socks.

Paul 0. Williams

 •

awaiting sunrise
   birdsong
colliding with waves

Karina Young

At the end of the book are biographies of the poets, who are distinguished members of the Haiku Poets of Northern California.
