Note in the choreographer’s drawing the lines of circumference rippling out through space, the human at the pond’s center like a sunfish surfacing, a water strider landing. How we move matters the world. Dancers have always known it, with the certainty that comes from a leg rising as it falls, an arm reaching out to gather in, a torso tending past horizon . . .
